Why we charge late fees:
Unfortunately, late fees seem to be the only choice we have to convey the need for timely registration.
It is very important to get an accurate player count as soon as possible, and we need fall registration data for the spring tryouts You must be registered for the next fall season to attend the spring tryouts. You can not try out and then register.
Even a few extra players can change the number of teams in an age group, and the number of players on the teams. We need to submit this information to BAYS initially 3 to 4 months before the start of a spring or fall season. We do not want to see anyone left out because we set the number of teams based on the numbers we had, and then had no room left on a roster.
As of spring 2006, we charge late fees for grades 1 & 2. We have been forced to do this due to the high number of last minute signups. Even though this is a ‘house' program we are having trouble reorganizing at the last minute. We do inform the Park and Rec program of our signup dates, so everyone should be aware of the process for grade 1.
Late Fee Structure
Players in grades 1-8 who do not register on-line during the registration period will be required to pay a late fee of $25 per child. The late fees are in addition to the appropriate fees and are NOT counted against the family maximum charge.
In the past, we have not had a documented policy for refunding registration fees when players withdraw from the program. We have researched refund policies of other area towns and developed a policy that is in line with these other towns. Below is the new refund policy that will be in place starting with Spring 2007 registration.
Before July 1: 100% registration fee less $10
After July 1: 0%
Before Feb 1: 100% registration fee less $10
After Feb 1: 0%
- Refunds are for registration fees only, no late fees or check fees will be refunded.
- Refunds can be provided either by check or a credit on the online registration account. No refunds can be applied to credit cards.
- Any player placed on a waiting list and not placed on a team after the season start will be granted a full refund.
