Medfield Soccer is a private soccer club that offers regular programs to Medfield residents in grades 1 to 8. High school age teams are organized in the spring only - on an as needed basis. Medfield Soccer is a member of the Boston Area Youth Soccer League (BAYS). BAYS currently has 47 member towns and is one of the 'town' leagues recognized by Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association (MYSA).
BAYS offers two, 10 week seasons, one in the fall and one in the spring. For U14 and under games are played on Saturdays. The standard time slots by age have girls in the morning and boys in the afternoon. The fall season will generally begin the first Saturday after Labor Day weekend. The Spring season will usually begin the second Saturday of April.
The fall is considered recreational in that there is no post season play. Results from the fall are used for placement purposes in the spring.
The spring season is the competitive season for the older (U12 and up), eligible (division 1 and 2) teams. Based on their section results teams can qualify for BAYS playoffs, and if successful, represent BAYS in the MTOC tournament (Massachusetts Tournament of Champions) against representatives from the other leagues. The MTOC tournament is held in late June.
BAYS offers the Presidents Cup tournament in the spring for division 3 teams. In the fall MYSA sponsors an event for younger age group division 3 teams.
